Our History

In 1979, Bill and Tony Van Haeren started Uvalux in Innerkip, Ontario as the first manufacturer of tanning equipment in Canada and the U.S. At the time, the Indoor Sun Tanning Industry was non-existent in North America. They continued manufacturing through the 1980’s shipping their equipment across the globe. In 1991, an influx of imports from Europe, and the rise of manufacturing, prompted the decision to stop the manufacturing of tanning equipment.

In 1992, strategic planning and negotiations enabled Uvalux to become the exclusive distributor of tanning equipment, lotions and lamps for New Sunshine Holdings. They are manufacturers of industry leading tanning lotions, Australian Gold^®, Swedish Beauty^®, Designer Skin^® and California Tan^®. They also own ETS^®, North America’s largest manufacture of Tanning Beds and Booths for Commercial or Residential use. We also proudly carry Mystic Tan^® and Versa Spa^® – Sunless Spray Tanning Systems and Hydration Station^® Treatment Spas.

Over the last 30 years, Uvalux has worked to develop the Canadian Indoor Tanning Industry. Our market share has grown quickly by helping salons target and achieve success. By building customer loyalty our customer focused approach to sales delivers entrepreneurs a complete package for starting and growing their business. The program has virtually guaranteed customer satisfaction and salons are successful with the help from Uvalux expertise.

Now with a fulltime staff of 72 and three locations across Canada, Uvalux is the largest distributor in the Canadian market, and one of the top three in North America.
